Contemporary Fine Arts is pleased to present Max Frisinger’s (b. 1980) second solo exhibition entitled “Buderus”. The artist studied at the HFBK Hamburg and lives and works in Berlin and Hamburg.

Known for his site-specific installations, Max Frisinger once again utilises the method of re-using and thus re-invention of found objects in this exhibition.

Old colour fragments remain on the radiators that are only partly polished. The exposed elements of the cast-iron heaters reference their origin and history: The title of the exhibition alludes to the company Buderus, which was founded in 1731 and established itself as one of the leading casting businesses in Germany and Europe.

Ambiguity is what stimulates Max Frisinger. By working the material and form of the sculptures, the artist underlines their inherent opposites: Brilliancy and decay, the fragmentary appearing complete. Brokenness that provokes the new.
