Pierpaolo Campanini
07 Sep - 20 Oct 2012
Opening: Friday, 7th September 2012 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Tommaso Corvi-Mora is pleased to present new work by Italian artist Pierpaolo Campanini.
Campanini’s practice explores the complex transformation that visual language undergoes in the translation from three-dimensional form to two-dimensional representation. For this exhibition, Pierpaolo Campanini has produced a group of paintings all having as a starting point an outdoor structure he built in his garden. Over the last few years the paintings have relinquished the usual compositional structure used in his work in the past, that of a central subject against a monochrome background, to explore a looser, more suggestive form of figuration.
Campanini’s work was recently included in "Faces” at the Onassis Cultural Centre, Athens. Pierpaolo Campanini lives in Cento (near Ferrara), Italy.
The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 6pm.
