Von Calhau! is the name of an artistic duo, Marta Ângela and João Alves, who have been developing a fertile work of collaboration in the areas of music and visual arts, since 2006, with multiple ramifications and various crossovers. This has resulted in concerts and performances, records, films and videos, and the profuse production of drawings and graphic work, as well as publications. Making use of these different media, and constantly exploring the mixture of references and elements drawn from a wide variety of different sources, Von Calhau! have built up their very own esoteric and syncretic imaginary and cosmogony, through which they question our condition in the world, while, at the same time, examining the meaning of the collaboration that is inherent in everything they do.
