n 1985, after much hassle with the Dutch railway company, Florian Kleinefenn and Fritz Rahmann succeeded in transforming two train compartments into a moving artwork. Travelers from Amsterdam to Dordrecht could take a seat in the train carriage with an economy class ticket. Some of the departments had become a moving camera in which the passing landscapes were projected op the walls through a small window. You could see the outer world live, but the sky was projected on the seats and the ground was on the roof of the compartment. The image moved with the pace of the train and came to a halt when the train did. Kleinefenn gave travelers the experience of an artwork while sitting in a train. He gave them the opportunity to daydream about the world upside down, far outside the walls of de Appel arts centre.
