Ghost Rider
October 30th- December 11th, 2010

A new exhibition of collaborative works by Jonathan Monk and Ariel Schlesinger.

The starting point for this series of works was a long distance dialogue, followed by an intense discussion centered around the idea of equilibrium and the failure of finding a perfect balance.

Collaboration is often difficult, but developing this project has been insightful, interesting, funny and occasionally very dangerous.

We hope to present works that somehow deal with these things.

The exhibition space will initially act as a kind of atelier or laboratory as the show is built from various elements during the week of the installation.

The work “Balanced Acts”, is comprised of 24 altered photographs by the Swiss duo Fischli and Weiss, each installed within its own defined setting and illuminated by what appears to be a candle stick simply stuck into a wine bottle. Real objects have been added and real objects have been removed.

There will be no other artificial light source within the huge exhibition space of Hanger 2 in Jaffa.
