Julião Sarmento: Born 1948, Portugal. Lives and works in Portugal. His work combines video, sound, painting, photography, sculpture and installation.

Recent exhibitions in CHIADO Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea (2008), Venice Bianale (1997) and Sean Kelly Gallery, New York (2009).


Francis Alÿs: Born 1959, Belgium. Lives and works in Mexico City. Alÿs explores political subjects such as contentious borders and economic crises.

Recent Exhibition in Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford (2002), Lisson Gallery, London, (1999 , 2001) and at Peter Kilchmann, Zurich, (1999, 2001).


Lawrence Weiner: Born 1942, USA. Lives and works in New York.

A central figure in the world of conceptual art. Through text works in different languages, Winner asks to explore the relationships between the word and their connections to the viewer. His recent retrospective exhibited at the Whitney Museum of Contemporary Art, New-York, moved to the Museum of Contemporary Art, L.A and finally at the K21 Düsseldorf .



Emily Dickinsons' phrase Perhaps the heart" stands at the heart of the exhibition.

These three artists managed to overcome their different backgrounds and through theirs friendship to create a new language of art .
