"ENDGAME"
Galleria Emi Fontana is happy to announce Liliana Moro’s fifth personal exhibition appositively explicitely for the gallery space.
Endgame is the title of a new project by the Milanese artist articulated in a sculptural group composed of three unique objects, a series of everyday objects and a collection of wall-hanging images.
Glass is the material chosen by the artist to model the three sculptures which, located at the centre of the space, point to the different exhibition routes in a free association of the interconnectedness of the human condition.
In the first sculptural group the same everyday object is repeated three times in orange hand-blown glass. The objects appear the same except for some barely visible formal variations which make them unique objects. They are the metaphor of the bodily relation between inward and outward space. Differently, a series of transparent glass jars arranged on the floor make up a self-standing but varied unity. In different shape and size, they are the empty containers of organic substances and food.
The exhibition is completed by a series of 40 images: newspaper clippings taken from the news and represent faces and expression distorted and disfigured by emotions to create a diagram of human sensations and impulses such as rage, joy, success and violence.
Liliana Moro is one of the most representative artists of her generation. Various media meet in her work: drawing, sculpture, words, video and performance. They compose a multi-layered world where poor materials and everyday objects create a poetic and simultaneously bare reality.
In Liliana Moro’s work the world often reduced and miniaturized. The use of sound and the need to project one’s gaze downwards involve the viewers by forcing them to a spatial-temporal shift. The outcome is a series of works that amplify our perception of the emotional flux which is the background of our existence and leaves deep marks on our conscience.
