Braspenning was born in Rotterdam, in 1968. He lives and works in Leiden and Amsterdam. In his latest series he draws a landscape of decaying futurism on black board. He uses chalk, the ephemeral material, that he fixes on the board. Some works are drilled, and the holes he makes creates the paradoxical nature of his works. They are on one hand rather ephemeral but at the same time show strenght by the visible thickness of the wood.Braspenning had numerous solo and group exhibitions in Holland, and his work is in private and public collections.
