Galerie Fons Welters is proud to invite you to ‘Affinities #1’, a group exhibition bringing together an array of sculptural positions by Olga Balema, Jan De Cock, Saskia Noor van Imhoff, David Jablonowski, Folkert de Jong and Matthew Monahan. Although their artistic practices stem from varying attitudes, concepts and material approaches, it’s the gallery’s architecture that here, quite literally, forms a connecting thread through an intervention by Saskia Noor van Imhoff. Large plateaus positioned in the space, are a direct reference to its existing walls and function as carriers of the works. Through this juxtaposition of artistic positions, ‘Affinities #1’ explores possible – and sometimes unexpected – correspondences, where the gallery’s blue print becomes a canvas of possible affinities.
