As part of the Stuttgart Book Week in mid-November 2012, a jury awarded the German Photo Book Prize 2013 “Gold” and “Silver” distinctions to 22 photo books, and recognized another 173 titles with the “Nominated 2013” designation. The traveling exhibition German Photo Book Prize 2013 comprises the award-winning and nominated titles; the Forum für Fotografie, Köln, will be a stop on its tour this year as in years past.

Winners of the unendowed Photo Book Prize given out by the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels, Landesverband Baden-Württemberg [Association of German Book Dealers, Baden-Württemberg National Association] are photographers, authors, and editors who have engaged with and/or presented a photographic challenge especially well. The title “German Photo Book Prize Winner 2013” (Gold and Silver) honors stunning photographic quality, overall strong aesthetic impression, and outstanding photo-techical and photo-historical achievement. The prize is awarded in the categories of illustrated photo books, photography history/theory, and photography textbooks.

Sui (Department Head of Art and Cultural-Historical Collections; rem | Reiss-Engelhorn-Museen, Mannheim), Norbert Waning (BFF Association Freelance Photo Designer, Stuttgart), Wolfgang Zurborn (Photographer, Köln)
