I think that painting relates very neatly to inner travel and the exploration of inner worlds. With painting, I always get the impression that you're sort of entering into a shared space. There's everyone who has painted in the past, and everyone who is painting in the present.

Gagosian Gallery is pleased to present new paintings, drawings, and sculptures by Joe Bradley at 980 Madison Avenue and to announce our representation of the artist. This is his first solo exhibition with the gallery.

Joe Bradley was born in 1975 in Kittery, Maine; he lives and works in New York City. He received his BFA in 1999 from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in Providence.

His work is included in public and private collections including The Saatchi Gallery, London; Hall Art Foundation, Reading, Vermont; De la Cruz Collection, Miami; and Museum of Modern Art, New York. Recent exhibitions include “Joe Bradley,” MoMA PS1, Long Island City, New York (2006); and “Joe Bradley,” Le Consortium, Dijon, France (2014). Bradley participated in the 2008 Whitney Biennial, Portugal Arte 10 in 2010, “New York Minute,” MACRO Foundation, Rome (2009, travelled to Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in 2011); "EXPO 1: New York" at MoMA PS1 in 2013; and “The Forever Now: Contemporary Painting in an Atemporal World,” Museum of Modern Art, New York (2014–15).
