Mach was Du willst: Das Künstlerkollektiv ARTINSPACE vermietet in der Galerie b2_ Leipzig für die aktuelle Ausstellung GEGEN DIE WAND / NO WALLS 99 mal einen Quadratmeter Bodenfläche. Damit kann jeder auf dem limitierten Feld der Kunst seinen Claim abstecken. Durch den medialen Prozess schrittweiser Buchungen über eine Internetseite, die aus Ihrer unverfänglichen Neutralität die Nähe zur Kunst abstreitet, entsteht aus dem geordneten Feld in einem demokratischen Manhattanismus der Ausstellungsfläche und der Negation der Wand ein komprimiertes Schaulager zeitgenössischer Kunst.
Das »Anything Goes« auf bis zu 3 Quadratmeter pro Teilnehmer in direkter, blind gebuchter oder strategisch abgesprochener Nachbarschaft verdichtet die quadratische Struktur zu einem Datenpaket künstlerischer Positionen. Der gesellschaftliche Prozess des kompetitiven Nebeneinander von qualitativer Alleinstellung und der grossen Koalition des Konzeptes versetzt den Betrachter in ein Spannungsfeld aus Angriffsflächen und inhaltlicher Schichtung.
ANARCHY AND ORDER
Do what you want: For the exhibition GEGEN DIE WAND / NO WALLS at Galerie b2_ Leipzig, the artist collective ARTINSPACE is renting out ninety-nine one-square metre lots of exhibition floorspace. This enables the participating artist to stake his/her claim within the limited domain of contemporary art. By booking via the Internet (a medium that due to its superficial neutrality often denies any proximity to the ways of the art world), the gallery - rigorously subdivided in terms of an uncomprimisingly democratic Manhattanism and negating to all intents and purposes the wall as exhibition space - becomes a high-density showcase for contemporary art.
By forcibly reducing the principle of "Anything Goes" to a space between one and three square metres per participant (either by booking blindly or strategically creating a neighbourhood of cells) the underlying cubic structure of the gallery becomes a receptacle for a compressed data package of a wide spectrum of art works. The social processes unleashed by the competitive clash of personal cultures beneath the great coalition of the guiding concept offer the viewer a critical cross-section of contemporary art charged with anarchic energy.
