"The sentimental glance"
Valerio Rocco Orlando (born in Milan in 1978, where he lives and works) between 2002 and 2006 has realised video- portraits of six young women.
For the first time from February 9 this series of works will be displayed together at Galleria Maze in the show "The Sentimental Glance" curated by Caroline Corbetta.
Fascinated in different ways by those women's distinguishing personalities, the artist stages their appearance as emanation of their subjectiveness.
Influenced by varied sources as the Nouvelle Vague and Caravaggio's painting, Orlando's language traces an emotional liason between the atist and his subject; an empatic relationship, so autentic that involves the viewer too.
