FILM/ART Art Moves #1 LAST CHANCE 13 NOVEMBER !
03 Sep - 13 Nov 2011
FRIDTHJOF FILM and Kunstforeningen GL STRAND present a new and alternative cinema experience in the exhibition space of GL STRAND with FILM / ART - ART MOVES #1. The 4 new film projects are created by: Christina Hamre & Janus Metz, Ingvar Cronhammar & Christoffer Boe, Astrid Kruse Jensen & Pernille Rose Grønkjær, John Kørner & Martin de Thurah.
The four films are a result of a unique collaboration between eight of the most striking contemporary Danish artist within moviemaking, music video production, documentary and visual art. During the last six months the partners have investigated each other’s knowledge and creative methods. With their common works the exhibition scopes the result of a challenge and collaboration between the two exuberant “industries” – the film business and the art world. Thus, what creative energy and storytelling may come from this fusion?
FILM / ART reveals an enormous force in the artistic crossover. The films are presented in a comprehensive scenography, which in idea and expression is a continuation of the film-works and also known from visual art installations. Furthermore all the works are staged with elements from the environment of the cinema such as snack bar, corridors and cinema theatres.
The films are produced by Miriam Nørgaard, FRIDTHJOF FILM www.f-film.com
With FILM / ART Kunstforeningen GL STRAND is at the same time launching the three-year project: ART MOVES. This project focuses on visual art’s cross esthetical development and what it has meant for the work processes, the art works and their relation to the audience. Hence ART MOVES encompasses three exhibition projects: FILM / ART (2011); THE POETIC MAN: Jørgen Leth & The Art (2012); INTERACTION: Visual Art, Music and Fashion (2013).
