The tenth anniversary of the Stalactite Machine is a most appropriate occasion for a solo exhibition of works by Bogomir Ecker. While the stalactite continues to grow, in recent years Ecker has created numerous new sculptures and installations which express his fascination with the phenomena of communication and technology. The artist confronts simple forms reminiscent of machine parts and alienated everyday objects with natural forms, such as ice or meteorites, black holes or membranes. Ecker will show objects and interventions, apparatus and prototypes on the Sockelgeschoss of the Galerie der Gegenwart: a veritable arsenal of media, machines and other implements.
