“In this way, we want to inform you that thought ends with the death of the sun. While we talk, the sun is getting older. In four-and-a-half billion years, it will explode. What will remain after the sun explodes will belong to no one, because not only the earth, but human thought will burn up at its own horizon.” (freely adapted from J.F. Lyotard)
EXCELLENT BIRDS is a choreography about creating a medium for saving body intelligence. Before the sun explodes, a body must be made ready to carry over this potential for movement into the future. Bird AI (artificial intelligence) serves as a new kind of body memory.
EXCELLENT BIRDS is a collaboration between the choreographer and dancer Ursina Tossi, the dramaturge and performance artist Anja Winterhalter, and the visual artist Saskia Bannasch.
