Performative Painting
14 - 24 August 2014
While she studied painting at Tokyo’s preeminent art academy Musashino Bijutsu Daigaku, Junko Wada discovered her affinity to dancing and studied dancing as well. To this day her paintings originate from performative gestures found in dance. Up to eight hours lasts her exhausting working process at a time. The paintings develop a subtle, unfamiliar threedimensionality, revealing a shimmering experience of nature. A ten-day summer jaunt with performance, talk and concert. We open the short summer exhibition with an outstanding performance by Junko Wada and famous artist Takehito koganezawa, who exhibited at Haus am Waldsee already in 2012.
