Drawings by the Norwegian artist

Born in 1954 in Northern Norway, painter Olav Christopher Jenssen had completed already both his studies in art and graphics in Oslo and a lengthy residency in New York by the time of his migration to Berlin in the early 1980s. Since then, he has not only kept a studio in Berlin, but also in Lya in Southern Sweden. Since many years, Jenssen teaches at the Kunstakademie in Braunschweig.

A variety of line and colour moods charge his small-format papers with a fine electric energy. The drawings could be mind-maps mirroring the inadequacies of life with moments of doubt and joy.At the bottom of Jenssen’s work, there is no concept and no message, only intuition itself.

The works on view at the “showcase” are part of our festive museum shop, and are therefore available for purchase. In addition, unique ones byRudolf Borkenhagen and Alexander Blomberg as well as special artist books by Andrea Baumgartl and Peter Riek, and Matthias Zschokkes writing „Sommer mit Proust“ are also available.
