SHOW ME WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM
Presentation of drawings by syrian children
13 December 2015 – 31 January 2016
The Berlin artist Dieter Mammel (b. 1965, lives and works in Berlin) and Haus am Waldsee have initiated an art project with refugee children in autumn 2015.
Children from the age of 8 to 14 regularly draw together with Dieter Mammel at a Zehlendorf refugee reception centre. They report on their backgrounds and the journeys that took them to Berlin as well as their first impressions of the city. They have created large formats with coloured pens. From the point of view of a child, they tell of tank deployments and bombing raids, guarded borders and fear, but also of luck, happiness, friendship and gratitude.
