Sara Naim’s exhibition for Hayward Concrete Cafe features photographs that contrast geographic landscapes with the landscape of the body. They depict textured surfaces of metamorphic rock, magnified skin cells and interior organs, including the heart and lungs.

The abstract images in this exhibition – whether they take the form of palm-sized photographic prints, video projections or enlarged digital prints on fabric – disrupt our sense of scale and attempt to capture the sensation of touch in visual terms.

Born in 1987, Naim lives and works between London and Paris. She holds a BA in photography from the London College of Communication, and recently completed an MFA at Slade School of Fine Art. Recent exhibitions include Photomatter at Rich Mix, London, 2014; The Third Line Gallery’s Summer Exhibition, Dubai, 2014; Photography Open House at China House, Malaysia, 2013; and Au Lait - Quand l'art Déborde at Lab'Bel Gallery, France, 2012.
