When one speaks about foreigners in Germany, primarily they mean Muslims. "A growing and open racism in liberal garb is being unleashed upon them. Around 3.5 million people are being de-individualized and perceived as a homogeneous mass and threat," commented Züli Aladag.

The director of "Rage" and "Elephant Heart" looks at the clichés underlying such assumptions, at the people and their ideas: There are the clichés of the "real Germans” he interviewed on the Alexanderplatz. There are the "others", the immigrants in Kreuzberg, Neukölln and Wedding. In a video installation, he shows the contradictions of everyday racism in contrast to the self-image of these seemingly "radical others" - the Muslims in Germany. If you feel like it, you can put yourself in the “other’s” shoes and have a photograph taken of you wearing a headscarf, chador or prayer cap: create an image of yourself as a "foreigner".

Züli Aladag was born in Van / Turkey and raised in Stuttgart. He has been living in Berlin since 2002.
