"Atonement"

Opening reception: Wednesday 7 February at 6pm
All of the works on this show, produced over the past two years, are concerned with notions of atonement in contemporary South Africa. I am particularly interested in the necessary distinction between outward or public actions and private attitudes, which are in themselves essentially impossible to verify or even ascertain.
Jordan Tryon
Although Jordan Tryon recently graduated with his MFA from Rhodes University, he has already been selected as a finalist in two of the most illustrious art competitions in South Africa; the Absa Atelier 2004 and the Brett Kebble Awards 2005, prior to cancellation. During 2005, Jordan Tyron exhibited as part of the João Ferreira group summer show and this will be his first solo exhibition.
