The collection exhibition will update ideas of contemporary art in the Baltic region. The show will feature works by contemporary artists in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania alongside art from Finland and other countries in the Baltic region, presenting both new works and older art from the collections of Kiasma. Important themes will include issues of nationality, gender identity and the geopolitical situation.
Artists featured in the exhibition will include Roma Auskalnyte (Lithuania), Daria Melnikova (Latvia), Jaanus Samma (Estonia) and Maria Tobola (Poland). A research publication to be released in conjunction with the exhibition will contain commissioned articles by experts of the region and of contemporary art, such as Rebeka Põldsam (Estonia), Evelyn Raudsepp (Estonia) and Maija Rudovska (Latvia).
