Konrad Fischer Galerie gladly announces the opening of the Carl Andre solo show SQUARES on Friday, May 16, 2014.

Konrad Fischer Galerie and Carl Andre are looking back on a long-time and continuous collaboration. Since his first European solo show in Düsseldorf back in 1967 - being at the same time the grand opening of Konrad Fischer’s gallery - , our gallery presented nearly 40 solo shows of this American Minimal artist and his mainly floor-based sculptural works.

His recent show includes works made of aluminum, steel, stone and wood, created between 1985 and 2007 - among these the central piece from his 1997 show at Stommeln Synagogue: THE VOID ENCLOSED BY THE SQUARES OF THREE, FOUR, FIVE.

Until March 2, 2015, Dia Beacon, NY, will present the large Carl Andre show 'Sculpture as Place. 1958 - 2010' - his first U.S. retrospective traveling to museums in Spain, the Netherlands and Germany as well. Until August 17, 2014, the Museum zu Allerheiligen in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, will focus on the artist’s works on paper: 'Carl Andre. Poems 1958 - 1969'.

At this year’s Art Basel 45 - Art Unlimited Konrad Fischer Galerie gladly presents STEEL PENEPLAIN: a steel rectangle of 3 x 100 m, that had been conceived for the central alley of the Auepark in Kassel 1982 during documenta 7.
