The presented exhibition by the media artist Phillip Hohenwarter, shown at the Gallery Amer Abbas, gives an exemplary excerpt of his recent work, as well as a representative view on it. The reflections on his working medium video are methodically lead by the term of united contrarities, induced by a personal necessity of interdisciplinarity. In these dialectic pictures a direct relation between body and space is being evoked. The organic as well as the industrial body forms the framework and provokes the immanent threat of space. The game of effect and perception, as well as its applicability on the medium, is followed consequently and reviewed in the artists work equally.
Phillip Hohenwarter studied at the University for Applied Arts (Erwin Wurm), and lives in Vienna and Berlin.
