KUNSTHALLE BERN TALK

Florence Derieux outlines and discusses the artistic work Marine Hugonnier. Moderation Philippe Pirotte, director Kunsthalle Bern.
Art historian Florence Derieux (*1973) was curator at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and representative conservator at the Picasso Museum in Antibes. Since 2003 she is working as an independent curator and among others organised a retrospective of American artist Tom Burr at the Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts Lausanne in 2006 and the retrospective of Lothar Hempel at the Magasin de Grenoble in 2007. Florence Derieux periodically writes for Flash Art, art press, Frieze, U-N-I-O-N and other art magazines.
Artist Marine Hugonnier (*1969 in Paris, lives and works in London) makes films and photographs. She explores the way a landscape determines History, or vice versa: how ideology shapes a landscape.
From 27th October till 9th December the Kunsthalle Bern will present her first institutional solo exhibition.
Philippe Pirotte (*1972) is art historian, curator and director of the Kunsthalle Bern since 2005.
