For fi­ve days in Sep­tem­ber 2014, the ÜBER ECK pro­ject will be show­ing the work of ni­ne ar­tists en­ga­ging wi­th the spa­tia­li­ty of the ex­hi­bi­ti­on spaces at Kunst­hal­le Düs­sel­dorf. This pro­ject con­ti­nues the Kunst­hal­le tra­di­ti­on – ex­em­pli­fied
in par­ti­cu­lar by the ex­hi­bi­ti­on se­ries bet­ween – of uti­li­sing the pe­ri­ods bet­ween the main tem­pora­ry ex­hi­bi­ti­ons for ad­di­tio­nal short, ex­pe­ri­men­tal ex­hi­bi­ti­ons.

The ar­tists par­ti­ci­pa­ting in ÜBER ECK we­re selec­ted un­der the cri­te­ria of not being re­pre­sen­ted by a par­ti­cu­lar gal­le­ry and of all be­lon­ging to rough­ly the sa­me
ge­ne­ra­ti­on. All of the ar­tists stu­died at Kunst­aka­de­mie Düs­sel­dorf.

The ex­hi­bi­ti­on is al­so cha­rac­te­ri­sed by the sys­te­ma­tic and ra­ther co­vert crea­ti­on of the art­works, which ha­ve found form in me­dia such as pain­ting, in­stal­la­ti­on, drawing, sculp­tu­ral pain­ting, sculp­tu­re and vi­deo.
All of the ex­hi­bi­ted works en­ga­ge wi­th the gi­ven spa­ti­al en­vi­ron­ment in the Kunst­hal­le.

ÜBER ECK is joi­ning a long tra­di­ti­on of ex­hi­bi­ti­on se­ries at Kunst­hal­le Düs­sel­dorf, whi­le al­so par­ti­ci­pa­ting in a com­ple­te­ly new con­fla­ti­on of dif­fe­rent po­si­ti­ons cur­rent­ly evi­dent in in­de­pen­dent art pro­duc­tion in Düs­sel­dorf, un­der the um­brel­la of the Düs­sel­dorf/Co­lo­gne gal­le­ry weekend, DC OPEN.
