Kunsthalle Lissabon presents Habitantes de habitantes [Inhabitants of Inhabitants], Oporto-based duo Mariana Caló e Francisco Queimadela most recent project, on view from October 12 to December 17, 2016.
Mariana Caló and Francisco started their collaboration in 2010 with the project Gradations of Time over a Plane, an ongoing series on non-linear chapters, in which the duo has been developing a reflection on the notion of Time and its relation to human subjectivity. The practice of Caló and Queimadela has explored several media and disciplines, namely moving image, both film and video, drawing and painting.
Habitantes de habitantes is a project in which the duo articulates a set of ideas, concepts and metaphors they have been exploring recently:

Mariana Caló (Viana do Castelo, 1984) and Francisco Queimadela (Coimbra, 1985) studied Painting at Faculdade de Belas Artes - Universidade do Porto and have been working as a duo since 2010. A selection of recent shows include The Book of Thirst, Serralves Museum, Porto, 2016; Carpe Diem Art and Research, Lisbon, 2014; Perpetual Interview, Axa Building, Porto, 2013; Chart for the Coming Times, Rowing Projects, London, 2012 and Villa Romana, Florence, 2013; Gradations of Time over a Plane, Gasworks, London, 2012 and General Public, Berlin 2011; The Springs of the Flood, Altes Finanzamt, Berlin, 2011. The duo were artists in residence at Gasworks, London in 2012. They won the BES Revelação award in 2012, were shortlisted for the 10th edition of EDP New Artist Prize in 2012 and won Schermo dell'arte Film Festival's International Prize in 2013.
