Bachelor Art Education ZHDK im Dialog mit der Sammlung
The changing status of educational work at museums and art institutions has enabled museum pedagogy to finally emerge from the shadows in recent years. Under the rubric of Art Education is has been transformed around the world and has – shaped by an increasing demand for innovation – become a practice in its own right. This development has prompted Kunsthaus Glarus, renowned and celebrated for its exhibitions of younger generation art, to establish a platform for a younger generation of art educators. For its initial program, eight students from the ZHdK have worked in dialogue with the collection to develop their own projects. Not only have new points of access been created in a literal sense, but new realms of experience, thought, and action extending beyond the museum and art in a strict sense have been developed as well.
The projects will be presented as an exhibition on the basement level of the Kunsthaus from 17 May to 16 August. Students will continue to add to and modify this presentation through 13 June with contributions from their educational work with the public, which will also be actively involved in the proceedings.
