HENNING BOHL
Cornet of Horse
25 June - 11 September, 2011
The Kunstverein Hamburg will be presenting the first extensive overview exhibition of the Berlin artist Henning Bohl (*1975). His works oscillate between design, art and interior decoration and, although they have little practical value, manifest intensive reference to art history from classical modern to minimal art. Bohl's installations cite places of reflection in the two senses of the word. The new works shown at the Kunstverein are reduced to essentials and now constitute an installation in the modern style: joined and combined elements whose aesthetic value-added lies alone in the elegance of their sparse forms. The exhibition at the Kunstverein is conceived as an "idea" of a collection of works and installations that form a joint, coherent system of different functional units.
