GENERACIONES 2015: WINNING PROJECTS

This year's exhibition features works by Elena Aitzkoa, Cristina Garrido, Karlos Gil, Nadia and Laila Hotait, Daniel Jacoby, Fermín Jiménez Landa, Karlos Martínez B., Lucía Simón, Pep Vidal González and Oriol Vilanova.
Generaciones is a project that evolves with each new edition, adapting to the demands of contemporary creators and updating its offerings. Today it is a landmark initiative in the Spanish art community, in which over 15,000 artists have participated over the past fourteen years.
The jury—consisting of Nuria Enguita, co-curator of the 2014 São Paulo Biennial, Tania Pardo, independent curator, and Francesco Stocchi, Senior Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam—carefully considered the ideas submitted by more than 650 people to Generación 2015, and selected ten art projects to receive a cash prize of 12,000 euros each.
The ten winning artists and projects are as follows: Elena Aitzkoa, Objetos nómadas; Cristina Garrido, Just what it is that make today’s exhibitions so different, so appealing?; Karlos Gil, -––––––¬ ̆; Nadia and Laila Hotait, La noche entre Ali y yo; Daniel Jacoby, Jagata-sensei: El hombre que leía patatas; Fermín Jiménez Landa, Acampada libre; Karlos Martínez B., Textile from Exile; Lucía Simón, Sin título-libretos; Pep Vidal González, Following the (Magnetic) North Pole; and Oriol Vilanova, Sin perder casi nada.
