INÉDITOS 2015
20 November 2015 - 10 January 2016
Inéditos is a competition organised by Fundación Montemadrid that helps young curators find their footing in the professional art world by giving the winners a chance to produce their first show and publish an accompanying exhibition catalogue.
This year's three winning projects were selected by an expert jury consisting of David Armengol, Jérôme Delormas and Manuela Moscoso. Each of the proposals, materialised in an exhibition to be held at La Casa Encendida, offers us a different perspective on the reality of art today.
The first project, Appunti, curated by Javier Arbizu, María Buey González, Jorge González Sánchez, Elena Peña Castillo and Diego Rambova, explores the relationships between object, artwork, power and identity. The exhibition features domestic, religious and other objects made by artists, as well as books, musical scores, architectural plans and film stills that cover a vast historical period stretching from the 14th century to the present day.
The second show, Here Be Dragons, curated by Neme Arrazna, presents works related to the exploration and discovery of new spaces, almost always figurative, and to the possibility of getting lost on a planet that shrinks a little more each day.
Finally, the exhibition S'WONDERFUL, curated by Beatriz Escudero, addresses the potential of games and play in artistic creation. The winning projects lead to an interesting reconsideration of work versus leisure, productivity versus non-productivity and education versus instruction, and invite us to reflect on the resolution of conflicts, social struggles, childhood, history and even love.
