Counting on People
3 February - 5 April 2015

Neïl Beloufa uses sculpture and the moving image to generate strange, unsettling spaces, installations that reveal the artist's perspective on modern-day society, where reality and virtuality intertwine and challenge our own perception of the world.
The exhibition, produced by the ICA, London, in collaboration with La Casa Encendida, premieres two films: Data for Desire (2014) seeks to explore and predict via mathematical systems the personality traits and actions of a group of people in a constructed environment; and VENGEANCE (2014) documents the artist's engagement with a group of youths who directed and developed the film's narrative. Both construct situations and scenarios of behavioural analysis that underscore the complexities of human interaction.

The show will also include screenings of La domination du monde (World Domination, 2012) and Home Is Whenever I'm with You (2014), a new film co-commissioned by the ICA, London, and The Banff Centre, Canada. Plus, on 14 February another Neïl Beloufa film, Tonight and the People, will be shown in the screening room. France, 2014. 81’. Original soundtrack with Spanish subtitles
