Preparations for Common Recognition
29 June – 22 July 2012
The project functions as an experimental installation located in the gallery space. Consisting of a multi-channel audio work of three voices, the space is imagined as an “archive of interruption”. As the voices debate each other on questions of subjectivity, social space and a politics of listening, visitors are invited to explore raw materials, documents, and artefacts housed in a series of constructed mobile book cases, panels and tables, each notating related research. The exhibition aims to perform as a knowledge structure supporting notions of interruption as the basis for community, for knowing the other.
