ILLUMINATION
New contemporary art at Louisiana
1 March - 11 September 2016
Louisiana presents a cornucopia of international contemporary and classic works of art acquired over the past three years – more than fifty works within painting, photography, sculpture and installation.
At Louisiana the opportunity for in-depth insight into the art of the present must be featured. The museum therefore upholds ambitious goals for the acquisition of contemporary art in order to create surprising and eye-opening perspectives on our time.
Illumination is set to be an exciting encounter with a wide field of both familiar and unfamiliar artists: Andreas Gursky, Franz West, Cindy Sherman, Rineke Dijkstra, Julie Mehretu – and Sterling Ruby, Alex Da Corte, Roni Horn, Tacita Dean, as well as many others from the global art scene.
In connection with Illumination, Louisiana will host an art festival in the spring where visitors get to meet several of the artists exhibited.
