SMADAR DREYFUS

11 SEP–13 DEC

The Israeli artist Smadar Dreyfus is interested in how meaning is created as well as distorted in the meeting between that which we apprehend with our eyes and that which we hear. The exhibition at Magasin 3 will focus on her latest work, a large-scale installation called Mother’s Day (2008). Here she investigates the roll of the voice in the cultural context and how it functions as intermediary between the individual and the collective. Dreyfus distinguished herself at the 2005 Istanbul Biennial with her acclaimed work Lifeguards of the same year. The exhibition at Magasin 3 will be her debut in Scandinavia.
