This fall, MAGASIN will present a solo exhibition by Lithuanian artist Deimantas Narkevicius. This exhibition will
be part of an international project born from cultural institution's common initiative around Deimantas Narkevicius' work. The project will consist in two solo shows by the artist, one being presented at MAGASIN, Grenoble (France), the other one being presented at Museo Marino Marini, Florence (Italy) - as well as a publication.
These two exhibitions will be conceived by the artist as one project but containing different works and taking place into two different venues. At MAGASIN, the galleries space will gather several films by Deimantas Narkevicius as well as a performative work. The artist will also create a new piece for MAGASIN's monumental space under glass roof, called the "Street", which measures more than 900 square meters.
This work will be somehow linked to his Florence's exhibition. Invited by Deimantas Narkevicius, Lithuanian band "Whitout Letters" will perform a concert the evening of the exhibition opening.
At the same, the work of a young LItuanian artist, Vytautas Viržbickas will be presented at the occasion of the Biennale in Kaunas.
