MY WAY, A MODO MIO
30 April – 28 May 2017
Ginevra Grigolo and Studio G7, 44 years between modernity and research
The Istituzione Bologna Musei pays homage to Ginevra Grigolo, a key figure and a real reference point with her gallery Studio G7 of the contemporary art scene in Bologna, with the exhibition My way, A modo mio opening at the MAMbo – Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna on April 29 at 18.00 until May 28.
By retracing the story of a gallery that, like its founder, always focused on research and innovation, the museum aims at painting a historical picture of the city cultural evolution. This initiative is part of a broader programme of events promoted by the Municipality of Bologna in conjunction with the Istituzione Bologna Musei to mark the 40th anniversary of the first edition of the International Performance Week, that took place in June 1977 and whose first catalogue has just been reprinted in its original form by Edizioni MAMbo.
My way, A modo mio traces back 44 years of passionate work carried out by its founder since the creation of Studio G7 in 1973: the Sala delle Ciminiere and its surrounding rooms will host a large and diversified selection of works, more than 150 pieces, ranging from internationally known names to younger artists.
The exhibition and its catalogue were made thanks to the contribution of Aliante Partners, Gruppo Hera, Matilde Callari Galli, Federico and Giovanna Enriques, Carlotta Minarelli, Chiara Segafredo, Luigi and Siriana Stefanini.
