THE ARCHITECTURE YOU LIKE
curated by GIZMO - Marco Biraghi, Gabriella Lo Ricco, Silvia Micheli
25 February - 10 April, 2011
The Gizmo group, composed of architectural historians and critics, is presenting L'architettura che ti piace/The architecture you like©, an exhibition designed to reawaken the practice of criticism and stimulate interaction with the public in a period of uncertainty over current architecture and its future.
18 architectural projects realised between 2000 and 2010, selected by a significant sample of Italian and foreign architects, critics, historians, magazine editors and architectural students, will be presented in installations around the building by Zaha Hadid and MAXXI B.A.S.E.
At MAXXI B.A.S.E., a large wall will instead present images of the architecture of the last ten years “liked” by the visiting public. Visitors will be able to choose from an extensive catalogue of images compiled by GIZMO or to select their favourite architecture by downloading and printing images from the internet via dedicated workstations or to bring in images from home. In all cases the public will be invited to pin their selected architecture on the wall and if they want to leave a brief comment motivating their choice. Furthermore, visitors will also be able to “vote” for their architecture, indicating it from among the examples already featuring on the wall via a sticker distributed to all participants.
