The exhibition open urban spaces that encourage onlookers to take action, to make a statement. At the heart of the exhibition we find the photographs shot between 1990 and 2004 as part of the Ortszeit project, for which Koppelkamm embarked 1990 on a trip through east Germany. The houses, roads and squares he photographed with his large-format camera appear frozen in time. The artist visited all of these venues once more ten years later, taking a second set of photographs from exactly the same vantage points. The dramatic social and economic changes that have unfolded in the meantime are reflected in the differences. The exhibition also features new photography and audio-visual pieces by Stefan Koppelkamm.
