In 2014 the Essen-based collector Christian Böhm made a generous donation of contemporary art to the museum. Works by Tilo Baumgärtel, Ulrich Gebert, Henriette Grahnert, Martin Parr, Ricarda Roggan, Thomas Scheibitz, Norbert Schwontowski, Andreas Slominski and Andy Warhol have now joined the collection of the museum. The donation reflects Böhm’s longstanding passion for collecting photographs, paintings, illustrations and installations by contemporary artists.
