For the opening season, the MCA has invited Performance Space to present a season of performative and socially engaged artworks around the new MCA building. Local Positioning Systems is a program running alongside the MCA’s inaugural season of exhibitions and public programs, drawing on Performance Space’s 25-year history of presenting interdisciplinary performance works in site-specific contexts.
Local Positioning Systems seeks to engage visitors in unexpected encounters, as well as the surrounding population of tourists, passers-by, business people, commuters and the various communities of The Rocks.
Artists performing across the season are: Jason Maling, Lara Thoms, Latai Taumoepeau, Julie-Anne Long, Stuart Ringholt, Zoe Walker and Neil Bromwich, and Bennett Miller.
