Galerie Mezzanin is very pleased to announce the first solo exhibition of the artist Marzena Nowak (born in 1977 in Piaseczno, Poland) at the gallery.
All possible events can be allowed to flow into analysis of the unconscious. Even those that appear completely coincidental and objective can be interpreted. As a result a certain space of symbols and meanings which are only comprehensible for the subject is created. Dream is never completely separated from reality. Even the strangest dream initially awakes no associations. But after a while it becomes clear to me that I have seen these objects or people somewhere, perhaps only for a moment, in a completely different context. These objects and people have something about them that I had previously not paid attention to. Now in sleep they begin to symbolise certain attributes. A certain person talks with me in a way that they become the personification of all gentleness. What was so special about their behaviour? The voice, the look, the words? I cannot say, but the overall result has the effect described. The interpretations of a psychoanalyst can be seen as a certain model of our individual psyche. A model that only applies to one person.
One day it could also come about that somebody does not manage to scream. A scream appeared to him destructive. A scream could offend so it was better to keep quiet. Even if somebody else deeply offended him, he could not raise his voice against them. Is this perhaps the reason that one day he had a sore throat?
