Grand Avenue:

LORNA SIMPSON
04.16.06 - 07.10.06

One of the leading artists of her generation, Lorna Simpson employs a spare, evocative visual language to explore assumptions about identity, gender, and culture. MOCA is the opening venue for this 20-year survey that includes approximately 45 works spanning Simpson’s early sequential photograph and text pieces, large-scale serigraphs on felt, and film and video installations.

The exhibition is organized by the American Federation of Arts.

This exhibition is made possible, in part, by grants from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the Peter Norton Family Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Lily Auchincloss Foundation, Inc., the Martin Bucksbaum Family Foundation, Emily Fisher Landau, and The Barbara Lee Family Foundation Fund at the Boston Foundation.
