PAUL THEK
In Process
23 March - 1 September 2013
Paul Thek, in Process is an archive exhibition in the Pontus Hultén Study Gallery, curated by Susanne Neubauer. It features Paul Thek’s oeuvre, based on correspondence and photo documentation from the Pyramid/A Work in Progress exhibition at Moderna Museet in 1971–72.
In the 1960s and ’70s, Paul Thek (1933–1988) was active in Europe, where his work was acknowledged and shown by curators such as Harald Szeeman, Christophe Amman and Pontus Hultén.
The exhibition Paul Thek, in Process is a series of separate events whose outcome forms the starting point for the next event. It has been shown at the Wilhelm Lehmbruck KM Museum, Duisburg, Germany, and Kunstmuseum Lucerne, Switzerland, before making its last stop at Moderna Museet – three museums where Paul Thek’s work also took place and was shown 40 years ago.
