The point of departure for this exhibition is the Swedish photographer Christer Strömholm (1918–2002) and his circle. A Way of Life will present photographers who developed documentary photography in a more personal and aesthetic direction.
The focus is on the private, intimate, intrusive or subjective tendencies in Swedish photography with a few international examples. Photographs from the Moderna Museet collection are the base for the selection and include photographs by Kenneth Gustavsson, Walter Hirsch, Eva Klasson, Tuija Lindström and Anders Petersen, among others. From a younger generation we will present projects by Martin Bogren, Anna Clarén and JH Engström.
