HARRY WEBER
The Vienna-Project
Inauguration: Tue, 18 October 2007, 7 p.m.
Exhibition runs from Fri, 19 October 2007 – Sat, 16 February 2008
Curated by: Berthold Ecker, Timm Starl
In the last years of his life, Harry Weber observed Vienna and its inhabitants with enormous creativity and inspiration, once more capturing with his camera many situations he considered typical and characteristic – always with a strong focus on changes in the urban space, on unusual everyday moments far from all clichés and, above all, on people.
In the context of his Vienna Project, Harry Weber shot more than 30,000 photos, from which curators Berthold Ecker and Timm Starl have woven an intense portrait of this city and its innumerable facets. The exhibition shows roughly 200 photos by the artist, who passed away in April 2007.
