17 September, 2011 - 8 January, 2012

This retrospektive presents the various stages in the career of Carl Andre (1935, Quincy, Massachsetts). One of the key exponents of minimalism, Andre radically reworked the twentieth century concept of sculpture, giving rise to the idea of artwork as place and creating sculptures that the viewer physically interacts with.
The exhibition presents various different types of work, from the wood sculpture composed of piled blocks, inspired by the monoliths of Stonehenge, to the famous floor-mounted works intended to be walked on.

In cooperation with the Museum Kurhaus Kleve Museum Kurhaus Kleve.
