Cildo Meireles (Rio de Janeiro, 1948), the winner of the Velázquez Prize in 2008, has blazed new trails in the world of conceptual art since the 1960s, expressing sensory perception through an oeuvre that interweaves the ethical and aesthetic dimensions of the work of art.

In this exhibition some of his most relevant historical projects will be shown, such as Physical Art and Insertions into Ideological Circuits, as well as his new work and pieces that have not often been displayed in his most recent exhibitions. The show thus includes some of his most important installations, such as Abaur, Olvido and Amerikka, the third of these being presented for the first time in the context of this retrospective.
