In the entrance hall of the Toni-Areal the Museum für Gestaltung uses the 140 m2 of the Nordwand for presentations. Admission is free.
Gottfried Honegger is numbered among the most internationally important concrete artists of his generation. Having worked successfully as a commercial artist in Paris, Zurich and New York, at the end of the 1950s Honegger made the decision to devote himself completely to fine art. However, he has always retained his interest in design and its use in everyday life. He strongly believes that art and life should be directly connected with each other. In the course of the last fifty years this artist has designed a number of large carpets that combine formal severity with a poetic dimension. Fourteen of these works can be seen on the north wall.
